made in france by raymond subes [attributed to], 1930s.
attributed to the mastery of raymond subes. in this example, the simplicity of the harped metal endings and the angulated flat cross bar [decidedly twisted in the center] shows you how fine a piece this table is, as no design element was taken for granted. the execution and finish of this fine art deco table can be seen in the use of both green/iron oxides on the harps and the gilding on the bars and table surround. the glass is original with its mirrored silver banding and does have a blemish [well, after 70+ years of cocktailing you would too!]
