art deco at its finest! this pair of side tables exemplifies art deco's reserved yet refined sense of opulence. by balancing the ornate gilded surround and leg carvings with a simplistic, flat, slightly raised black lacquer top, this is what i am talking about. this pair of "jolies" have been attributed to sue et mare [see bios], but no markings have been found. placed in an over the top decorative room or positioned next to the simplest of modern design forms these tables become the perfect accent, like fine jewelry to a dress.
